DSW-II- Series Transceiver Kit
Monoband CW, single-band

Small Wonder Labs is proud to announce the return of the popular DSW-series transceiver.

The DSW-II uses a PIC microcontroller and an AD9835 Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) chip to achieve crystal-based stability and full-band tuning range.

As you see from the image above, the DSW-II has undergone a significant repackaging! The earlier discrete wiring to the front and rear panels has been replaced with a daughterboard/flex cable (front) and integrally-mounted connectors (rear). This pays off in improved reliability and ease of both manufacturing and builder assembly.

Other noteworthy changes:

More output power: 5W max (4W 20M), rear-panel adjustable down to < 0.1W

Broad Tuning Coverage*
Battery-friendly operation
Built-in Keyer (mode B)
Morse frequency readout>
Receiver Incremental Tune (RIT)

Band / RX current

14.00-14.10 / 55 mA
10.10-10.15 / 40 mA
7.00-7.15 / 40 mA
3.50-3.725 / 30 mA

* Coverage is specified for purposes of SFDR(Spurious-free Dynamic range); the DSW may be operated outside of these characterized ranges at reduced SFDR values.

- Receiver response is flat within 3 db over a 150 kHz tuning range
- Transmitter output power is flat within approximately 1 dB over the coverage range.

Output Power: 5W (4W 20M) max. at 13.8V, adjustable
Supply voltage: 8-15V
Sidetone: 800Hz, fixed
SFDR: >60dB over specified frequency
TTDR/ MDS: equal to SW+
IF Filter BW: ~500Hz, any band

Frequently asked DSW-II Questions:

"Are they available?"

The DSW-II-20, -30, -40 and -80M versions are offered now!

"What's the price?"

$150, check or money order, includes shipping to US/Canada. $160 to all other destinations. You may also order on-line- see the website "Order Form" button )

"How long is the wait?"

The 'Shipping status' page may be used as a guide- it shows order-received and shipped-dates. I delete old shipping information roughly a week after the order ships.

What other bands will be available?

Perhaps 17M. It's a matter of 'spare time' and demand. Mostly the latter.
